Congrats to Coach Janetzke and the Varsity Baseball team. They were featured as the TEAM OF THE WEEK in the Journal-Sentinel:

 

The Spartans are off to a 5-0 start after going 7-17 last season. They won four games last week by scoring 62 runs, including 20-10 and 16-15 victories over Lake Country Lutheran on Saturday. In Game 1, Jake Reinke, Ryan Duranso and Ben Schrerib hit home runs. In Game 2, Duranso drove in five runs, Schreib hit two more homers and Matt Olson added four hits.

 

The Spartans are also ranked in the Journal-Sentinel as the 10^th best team in the Milwaukee Area along with 3 other teams from the Midwest Classic Conference. Well done Coach Janetzke and Spartans, we wish you well as the season moves ahead.

"But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses."

The 2010 Martin Luther Spartan Baseball team boasts seven returning letterman from the 2009 campaign.  Among those returning are seniors Chris Dotson and Nick Young, juniors Ben Schreib, Zach Kutz, Michael Evers, Peter Lodde, Alex Ehlert.  With that solid experience, the SPARTANS will look to improve on last year's finish which saw the the TEAM go toe to toe with eventual state champion Kenosha St. Joe's.  MARTIN LUTHER will be helped by the return of senior Adam Voss as well as the infusion of youth with sophomores Jake Reinke, Dan Kucharski, and freshman Matthew Olson.  Be sure to come on out to "THE YARD" and cheer on your SPARTANS!
