The University of Minnesota has presented Sussex Hamilton High School science teacher Kimberly Leannais (nee Franks) with its 2009 Outstanding Science Teacher Award.  Leannais was one of eight recipients and was honored with the recognition after being nominated by a former student.
     Leannais was invited to attend the annual College of Biological Sciences  Recognition and Appreciation Dinner at the McNamara Alumni Center on the University of Minnesota campus.  She will be recognized and presented with a certificate (suitable for framing) from the college.

     Chuck Freimund, of the Class of 1985, has been named morning sports anchor on Sportsradio 1250 WSSP in Milwaukee.
     Freimund started the sportsradio phenomenon when he was co-hosted the afternoon show on Wisconsin's first "all sports" radio station WAUK.  He pioneered sportsradio in Wisconsin and the format has been highly popular both in Wisconsin and nationally.
     Prior to coming back to Milwaukee, he had broadcast Division One play-by-play for UW Green Bay basketball and was a co-host of a highly rated five-hour morning sports show on Green Bay's All Sports Station WDUZ.

Matthew Robert Sweet, son of Robert and Deborah, formerly of West Milwaukee graduated from the United States Officers Candidate School (OCS) on December 5, 2008 and was commissioned as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy.

Following graduation, Ensign Sweet has been assigned to the Norfolk Naval Base in Norfolk, VA where he will begin service aboard the USS Gunston Hall.

Matt successfully earned a Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Accounting from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2007 and is a 1998 graduate of Martin Luther High School, Greendale, WI.

Congratulations, Matt!
