• Performance is based on the following categories
  • Vocabulary and verb quizzes 25%
  • Unit tests, quizzes, and projects 45%    
  • Homework (workbook/video manual/text/on-line) 15%
  • Final Exam 15%
• The ML grading scale will be applied (see your Spartanizer for details)
• I reserve the right to evaluate your conduct and behavior. This is an interactive and communication driven class and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated!

• All materials should be brought to class on a daily basis (3 ring binder and writing utensil)
• You are to be seated at the bell-tardiness is not an option, it disrupts the class.
• ALL assignments are due at the START of class. Any assignment received after the start of class is considered late and will not receive a grade. This assignment still must be submitted to demonstrate progress in the course.
• If you are absent during a test, quiz, video, project/presentation… due date you must submit or make up the work the date you return or complete and submit a make-up contract (option only if you were absent for two or more days) or receive a zero.
• If you know that you will absent for family, vacation, or other reasons please submit a prearranged absence form and take the assignments with you!
• If you cut class or have and unexcused absence you will receive and automatic ZERO
• Any case of plagiarism (representing someone else’s work as your own) or cheating will result in an automatic zero and your parents will be notified!!!
• RETAKES: proficiency is desired in this class and that may mean extra effort-learning a foreign language is not always easy. Vocabulary quizzes score 12-15/15 will be rounded to a 15/15 in my electronic grade book. Scores 5-11/15 earn you an “otra vez” or retake; the day and time will be noted on your returned quiz.  Any failure to retake reverts to a ZERO and all scores below 5/15 are recorded as a ZERO.  Retakes on big quizzes or unit tests are dependent on completion of the practice version by the assigned date. If all of your work was done on time but you are not satisfied with your grade…make the corrections, pick up and complete a second version of the practice quiz/test, correct it with me and retake an alternate version within the same 6-week mark period. Procrastination is your worst enemy. 
• Check your grade regularly. Any posted grades below 70% are required to be in attendance on Student Help Day.

• 5th and 8thperiods (1^st semester) or by appointment and 5^th and 7^th (2^nd semester)
• I arrive at ML around 7:30 so before school is a good time to meet with me. If you need to meet with me after 3:15 please schedule an appointment so that I can make the appropriate schedule arrangements.
• Email: LTinsen@martinlutherhs.org. I check my email multiple times daily, including late evenings and very early mornings.

• Read your text and materials
• Access the website for support as needed
• Pay attention to me, computer activities, class activities, lab activities and video episodes and take notes during class. Please do not do non-Spanish homework or work in class.
• Do your preparation work and projects as assigned
• Ask questions: either in class, during office hours, or via email
• All of these will maximize your classroom experience and aid in your success!
