Co-Curricular Activities
Students have many opportunities to become involved during their high school years. Typically over 80% of the student body is involved in one or more co-curricular activity during the school year. We strongly encourage students to use their God-given talents and abilities through participation in an organization of their choosing. Each club and organization listed below has an advisor who is responsible for meeting times and scheduled events. Meetings and/or practices usually will take place immediately after school; some are held in the evening.
DRAMA
The drama program produces a fall drama and a spring musical. Students have the opportunity to be involved in front with the audience as actors, or backstage through crews involved with costumes, makeup, light and sound, set construction, and props. Students receive the opportunity to be recognized and earn awards for their contributions.
MUSIC
Music is a gift of God. It is a special blessing because He asks His creatures to use the gift to praise His Holy Name (Psalms 95; 96; 98; 150). The goal of the Martin Luther High School music program is to give each student a rich experience in music. This experience is designed to help each student value music as a gift of God, to stimulate the development of musical talent, and to encourage participation in musical performances for the enjoyment of the listener and the glory of God.

STUDENT COUNCIL
The focus of Student Council is creating meaningful community service opportunities, spirit activities and social events. Three committees are comprised of students elected by the student body to provide the best possible activities which improve school spirit, and generate a sense of service for the entire Martin Luther community. Elections occur each spring for returning students and each fall for freshmen. All students are encouraged to get involved and contribute to the success of the programs at Martin Luther.
1. Social Committee (dances & social events)
2. Spirit Committee (spirit & fundraising events)
3. Service Committee (community & school services)
ATHLETICS
There are 41 athletic teams, 21 on the varsity level, available to students for interscholastic competition. Martin Luther is proud to be a member of the Midwest Classic Conference.
