CHOIR

Choral Music
Many rewarding ensemble performance opportunities for singers are available in the Choral Music Department. Whether it's singing in the auditioned Troubadours or participating in Chorus, there is something for everyone. With singers performing in 3 choirs (two of them auditioned), Martin Luther is reaching out to our school and community sharing the gifts from God with which we've been blessed.

The ML Choral Department is made up of two curricular choirs (Chorus and Concert Choir) and one extracurricular auditioned ensemble, Troubadours.

Concert Choir / Chorus

The Concert Choir is an auditioned vocal ensemble that performs a wide variety of choral music. It is open to Grades 10-12 with auditions being held in January for the following year's choir.  Chorus is a non-audition choir open to all students offering a comprehensive program for aspiring singers to use their gifts and discover their hidden talents.  Both groups participate in school chapels and outside performances in the Milwaukee area. The Concert Choir also participates in the Wisconsin School Music Association Large Group Festival and tours nationally each Spring.

Troubadours
The Troubadours are open to all students Grades 9-12, but an audition is required.  These auditions are held in May for the following year.  All members of the Troubadours must also participate in either Concert Choir or Chorus for one semester in each year they are a Troubadour. The Troubadours have a heavy performance schedule with numerous requests to perform.  They participate each year in the Vocal Jazz Category of the Wisconsin School Music Association Solo/Ensemble Festival, and have consistently received 1st-Place ratings at both the District and State Level. The Troubadours also accompany the Concert Choir on their annual Spring Tour.
