Building Christian Athletes from the Mat Up

In 2005, the wrestling program at Martin Luther was close to being abandoned. Tony Romano was hired by Martin Luther in 2005 to be the Physical Education teacher. Three weeks before wrestling season began, the head coach at the time left the program and Mr. Romano was asked to fill in. He had always wanted to be a football coach, but God had a different plan. It was a slow start, only having nine students on the team, so it was difficult to remain optimistic with few wins. But he got to work, gathering research material from his high school in Illinois.

Unique Academic Opportunities

Martin Luther High School has featured a wide range of unique courses in its curriculum over the years. The school continues to add intriguing courses, such as Filmmaking, Videography, AP Seminar, and AP Human Geography in the past two years. Two departments are ranked as student favorites; Culinary Courses, which has been around for decades, and Power Technologies, which is new and has room for expansion. Both areas have grown to accommodate the interest in specialty extracurricular study.

Melody (Thompson) Wolske began her distinguished career in public accounting at Price Waterhouse, which became PwC in 1998. She started there just a few weeks after graduating from UW-Milwaukee in December 1990 with a BAA in Accounting. With a drive to learn, Melody became the first female admitted to the partnership of PwC’s Milwaukee office in 2001.

Mr. Krubsack: A Music Legacy

The influence of music is powerful across all nations, genres, and generations. The Martin Luther High School band program understood this and poured a remarkable experience into hundreds of students since the school began in 1968. David H. Krubsack was the first director of music at ML, being on the faculty list when the doors opened to welcome 11 band and 16 chorus members.
